As an artist, conservationist and hunter, I share my passion for pursuing these activities with my husband & two working Labradors. Much of my artwork has evolved from our common experiences and they are often the subjects of my paintings. Through my observations and memories, my paintings portray a story of the partnership between the sportsman and his canine companion with their surroundings and wildlife.
My formal art training was at West Virginia University, where I received my B.A. in Fine Art. I studied with Joe Moss, an abstract artist and sculptor, who required his students to be able to create realistic renderings before going into extreme abstraction. His emphasis not the need to see helped me develop the allegorical style that I do today.
