My introduction to oil painting was in a high school art class and I was enthralled. I promised myself that when I retired I would learn to paint. Five years ago, on retirement, I began to fulfill that dream by pursuing classes and workshops, visiting our local art galleries and attending every possible moment of Easton’s Plein Air Festival. Painting in oil is my passion and I truly regret not pursuing my dream earlier in life. I am thankful that Talbot County provides a very inspirational setting for artists.
My birth place was Louisiana and I have resided in many states and in Germany but have lived in Talbot County for 47 years. I graduated from high school in Silver Spring, Maryland and from Western Maryland College with a Sociology degree. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from University of Maryland in Baltimore City. My career as a mental health therapist and administrator was very rewarding. On retirement in 2012 I began to fulfill my dream to paint. My family members (husband, daughter, son & 3 grandchildren) are my biggest supporters as well as my inspiration.
