I am constantly learning and growing as an artist. Sometimes, this presents challenges that are difficult! When I feel frustrated, I look to a quote by the legendary artist and Art League of New York teacher, Robert Henri, who said, ” The picture that looks as if it were done without an effort may have been a perfect battlefield in it’s making”.
Mary Ellen Mabe is a oil painter who resides in Bozman, Maryland. She began her art studies while living in the Chicago area at ,”the Studio In The Woods” with a group of other local artists. After moving to the Eastern Shore, Mary Ellen has taken advantage of many workshops from local and nationally known artists. Currently , she is part of a mentoring group with Nancy Tankersley at The Easton Studio, Easton, Maryland.
A six time selected artist for, “Local Color”, show as part of Plein Air Easton, A juried artist in The “Oxford Fine Art Show”, and a six time participant in ,”The Arts In Easton”.
Mary Ellen participated in a 2016 artist’s retreat and Plein Air workshop in Fountaine-Foucheres, France.
